La Minerva Roundabout turned yellow as thousands of Colombian fans gathered to send their national team off with a good-luck celebration ahead of Tuesday, June 23, when Los Cafeteros will take on the Democratic Republic of the Congo at Estadio Guadalajara.
One of the city's most iconic landmarks filled with music and dancing, replacing the usual evening traffic with an all-out street party.

The area surrounding the emblematic statue was gradually drenched in yellow, blue and red as Guadalajara's guardian watched Colombian flags take over the tapatío scene. Accompanied by drums and hundreds of voices singing in unison, supporters showcased the excitement surrounding their team following its winning start to the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Mexicans, well known for embracing a good celebration, didn't miss the chance to join in. Fans from both countries showed that a passion for football is a universal language, one that beats strongly in the heart of this city.

The music never stopped, and the send-off lasted for hours. Entire families, young supporters and tourists became part of the festivities, transforming La Minerva into a small extension of Colombia, complete with the warm and welcoming spirit that defines the people of Guadalajara.
Amid the dancing, colors and football passion, Colombian supporters made one thing clear: they are already playing their part and are ready to back their team in the clash against Congo, where a victory would secure their place in the next round.
