The Republic of Korea held its first training session in the Most Mexican Host City, doing so in a truly festive atmosphere with more than 700 fans in attendance to watch the team in action.
Chivas Verde Valle, the Asian side’s Base Camp during the FIFA World Cup 2026™, was filled with color and tradition. Before the on-field session began, fans enjoyed a traditional Mexican fair featuring iconic snacks from Jalisco and live mariachi music that set the tone for the day.
Prior to training, Olimpia Cabral, Host City Manager; Amaury Vergara, President of Club Guadalajara and Estadio Guadalajara; and Ainara Zatarain, Director of Operations, officially welcomed the Asian Tigers and assured them that their stay in the Most Mexican Host City will be an unforgettable experience.
“Estadio Guadalajara was built more than 15 years ago with the dream of hosting the World Cup, and very soon that dream will become a reality with top-level national teams and players like you. These training facilities at Chivas Verde Valle have also undergone a complete renovation to ensure they rank among the very best in the world. Just like the stadium, they are part of a World Cup legacy that will remain for our team and our fans long after the tournament,” said Amaury Vergara.
The training session included recreational activities, a light jog around the pitch, and recovery exercises following the team’s trip to the capital of the state of Jalisco the day before.
It is worth noting that the training fields at Chivas Verde Valle are identical to those at Estadio Guadalajara, where the Republic of Korea will play two of its three FIFA World Cup 2026™ group-stage matches during the tournament hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
